General Objective #1
The chapter will strive to accomplish its mission through effective programming
in the following areas of concentration: effective chapter meetings, membership
development, public relations, and membership communication.
Objective #1a:
Educate and develop members, provide networking and continuing education opportunities,
attract and retain members by offering high quality, dynamic, relevant, and enjoyable
programs.
Focus Areas : Effective Chapter Meetings, Membership Development
Goals:
- % of Non-Corporate Sponsor Membership Attending 40-50%
- Member Retention 95%
- Total Attendance Averages 40
- Program balanced between personal and professional development
- Membership diversification -12 new non-corporate sponsor members unless through
a new corporate sponsor
- Meeting survey evaluation scores 80% satisfaction
- Increase membership committee by 3-4 members and program committee by 4 members
Implementation strategy:
- Follow-up on non-renewing members
- Utilize email alerts to communicate with members & prospective members
- Monitor RSVPs and increase communication where needed
- Conduct annual survey
- Workshop breakfast meeting
- Active university programs and presentations
- Quick response to all member & non-member inquiries (via email and phone calls)
- Meeting survey evaluation scores 80% satisfaction
- Remind membership to complete survey at close of each meeting
- Board members seated at different tables
- Utilize website and post evaluation and CPE forms
Objective #1b:
Increase awareness of ASWA in the community, promote our members accomplishments
and increase active participation.
Focus Areas : Public Relations, Membership Communication
Goals:
- 2 ads / articles in Wichita Business Journal (WBJ)
- 4 feature articles in Wichita Eagle
- Feature articles on members in newsletter or website
- 20 new committee members
- 50 hits a month on website
- 2 – 3 calls per month with one “touch” per person absent 2+ meetings (Chapter Outreach)
- Renewal of existing Corporate sponsors and add new Corporate sponsors to reach $1,000
in total
Implementation strategy:
- Increase Chapter Outreach committee members (2-3)
- Identify a member or members in respective committees to handle publicity for meetings,
membership, etc. or identify a member to chair Publicity committee.
- Upgrade the website and newsletter
General Objective #2
The chapter will strive to accomplish its mission by supporting the accounting profession
and related fields through the following areas of concentration:
- Scholarships
- Community Service
- Public Relations
Objective #2a:
Provide the most opportunities for student scholarships and participate in community
service initiatives that support women, the accounting profession and related fields.
Goals:
- 15 scholarship applicants
- $4,000 and 4 scholarships
- Three service events per year
- Education/Scholarship fund donation drive w/matching contribution program
- Utilize website for Master Tax Guide orders – CCH Association partnership
- Dress for Success
- Increase scholarship committee by 2 members
